Showcase Camp

Over 80-percent of all NCAA football players attended some type of combine when in high school. If you’re reading this and you’re a high school football player wishing to build a resume and to gain exposure to college coaches all over, you’re invited!

Step It Up Showcase Camps are different than most. In addition to building an individual database for every player that includes height, weight, picture, 40-time, shuttle and 3-Cone drill, Step It Up provides the opportunity for our campers to learn from some of the best and to compete against some of the best.  At our Showcase Camps we provide our campers with a tremendous opportunity to gain college exposure through actual football-related drills and competitions. On top of that, top performers at each of our camps will receive an invitation to our National Elite Camp in July (more information can be found below).

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE STEP IT UP SHOWCASE CAMPS?

There are many reasons why a high school player would attend an SIU Camp. Whether you’re a rising senior who just made your All-State team and want to showcase your skills to gain exposure to college programs or you’re a rising freshman who will be looking to gain a competitive edge by learning new techniques, SIU Camps are for everyone. SIU Campers will work with a highly-trained coaching staff, which will feature some former NFL players, and will have a chance to learn a lot and to compete a lot. Perhaps best of all, Step It Up will invite players at each event to our NATIONAL ELITE CAMP in July. You don’t want to miss out on that opportunity!

WHAT TAKES PLACE AT A STEP IT UP SHOWCASE CAMP?

The Camp is broken into two parts: the first part will consist of four testing stations - 40-time (hand held), standing broad jump, shuttle run and 3-Cone drill.

In addition to those four stations, SIU will take your hight, weight and picture prior to the start of the camp.

After this, the top 40-times will compete in a Fastest Man race.  The second part of the camp will run through various position-specific drills with high-caliber coaches that will include former NFL players, and then have lots of time to go through 1-on-1 drills. There will be different competitions at every position and a whole lot more. Step It Up Showcase Camps are intended to be fun, fast-paced, energetic, competitive, and a great learning experience for everyone involved.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY RESULTS?

All the results will be posted on Step It Up's website and mailed to every college program in America, along with your contact information. There’s no better way to get your information in front of college coaches from across America. In addition, scouts from media outlets such as Scout.com, Rivals.com, 247 Sports.com, and other local newspapers will be invited to cover the event. They’ll be encouraged to write about the top performers so coaches and fans all across the country can read about it.

WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND?

The base cost to attend is $40.  For players from high schools who send three or more players, the cost is just $35 and for 10+ players the cost is only $25. That means some players could end up paying just $25 to receive a  tremendous experience, quality exposure to college programs everywhere, and an invitation to our NATIONAL EITE CAMP in July.

HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR ONE?

Pre-registration is very simple. Click on the REGISTRATION tab at the top and fill out the form. You will be added to the list for express check in at the event. Players may also register and pay at the event when they check in.

CAN I ATTEND A CAMP WITHOUT PRE-REGISTERING?

Yes. Pre-registration simply makes things a little easier on our end and helps you save on the cost of the event. However, walk-up registrations are definitely welcomed and encouraged and many players will choose to do that.

WHAT ARE THE 2013 DATES AND LOCATIONS?

For a complete listing of the events, click here.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any high school football player who has the desire to compete against other high school players, to learn from top notch coaches, to play at the college level, or simply wants to enjoy the experience of the event.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M ONE OF THE TOP PERFORMERS?

Individual trophy awards are given to the overall MVP, Fastest Man, and to the top performer at each position, as voted by the SIU staff and the coaches working the event. That will provide a tremendous opportunity for various media outlets to write about those players in the days immediately following the event. College coaches from across the country will have access to read about those performers.

WHAT IS THE ELITE NATIONAL CAMP?

Some of the top performers from each camp will be invited, in July, to our Step It Up National Elite Camp, which will be a blockbuster recruiting showcase event featuring top players from around the entire country. The Step It Up National Elite Camp will be an incredible showcase opportunity and a weekend of memories that will last a lifetime.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE EVENT?

Bring regular workout clothes and football cleats.

CAN MY COACHES AND PARENTS ATTEND?

Yes. Parents are encouraged to attend and watch from the stands. Drinks and refreshments will be available. If any of your high school coaches are interested in helping work the event for us, please have them contact us.

WILL THERE BE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS?

Yes. We use top of the line facilities and always have medical personnel on site.
