Over 80-percent of all NCAA football players attended some type of combine when in high school. If you’re reading this and you’re a high school football player wishing to build a resume and to gain exposure to college coaches all over, you’re invited! All the information you need to know about our combines is below.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SIU COMBINES?
SIU Combines are a great way to gain exposure to college programs from all across America. College coaches at every level build databases based on a series of attributes such as height, weight, 40-time, and vertical jump. We provide verified information in all of those areas and more. If you have a desire to play in college, at any level, it’s wise to begin building your resume for college coaches and attending one of our combines is a great way to do that.
WHAT ARE THE TESTING STATIONS?
SIU Combines offer five testing stations – 40-time (hand-held), vertical jump, standing broad jump, shuttle run, and bench press (reps at 185 or 135 pounds). These are five attributes that college coaches always look at when evaluating high school players. In addition to those five stations, SIU will also measure and weigh you prior to the start of the camp.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY RESULTS?
All the results will be posted on SIU’s website and mailed to every college program in America, along with your contact information. There’s no better way to get your information in front of college coaches from across America. In addition, scouts from media outlets such as Scout.com, Rivals.com, 247 Sports.com, and other local newspapers will be invited to cover the event. They’ll be encouraged to write about the top performers so coaches and fans all across the country can read about it.
WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND?
The base cost to attend is $30. If you pre-pay online, the cost is $25. For players from high schools who send three or more players, the cost is just $20 so start spreading the word to your friends and teammates!
HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR ONE?
Pre-registration is very simple. Click on the REGISTRATION tab at the top and fill out the form. You will be added to the list for express check in and you’ll receive the pre-payment discount. Players may also register and pay at the event when they check in.
CAN I ATTEND A COMBINE WITHOUT PRE-REGISTERING?
Yes. Pre-registration simply makes things a little easier on our end and helps you save on the cost of the event. However, walk-up registrations are definitely welcomed and encouraged and many players will choose to do that.
WHAT ARE THE 2013 DATES AND LOCATIONS?
SIU is hosting seven combines in 2013 – three in Florida, two in Texas, and two in California. For a complete listing of the events, click on the 2013 EVENT SCHEDULE tab at the top.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Any high school football player who has the desire to play at the college level or simply wants to go through the testing stations and receive scores is invited!
WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M ONE OF THE TOP PERFORMERS?
It means a few things. First, you’re a great athlete and congratulations on that. Second, it’ll be a tremendous way to gain exposure through various media outlets. And finally, we will hand out awards to the overall MVP, the Fastest Man, the Strongest Man, the Top Lineman, and the Top Underclassman. Those five players will receive sponsored entries (no cost) into the upcoming SIU Camp in their area, where they’ll have a chance to earn a sponsored entry into the National SIU Camp in July (a blockbuster recruiting showcase event featuring players from all over America).
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE MY SCORES?
All participants will have a chance to review their testing results at the event and will have a chance to scratch the results they don’t want posted online or sent to college coaches. A scratch will look like the player simply didn’t participate in that testing station so no “bad times” can ever negatively affect SIU participants.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE EVENT?
Bring regular workout clothes and football cleats.
CAN MY COACHES AND PARENTS ATTEND?
Yes. Parents are encouraged to attend and watch from the stands. Drinks and refreshments will be available. If any of your high school coaches are interested in helping work the event for us, please have them contact us.
WILL THERE BE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS?
Yes. We use top of the line facilities and always have medical personnel on site.
